On March 12th, Dr. Yulia Mitiagin, Director General of the Israel Universities Alumni and Friends in China (IUAC), attended the a lecture and performance of "Movement in Chinese Korean and Chinese Mongolian dance" held at the Tel Aviv Chinese Cultural Center by Ms. Qing Fang-Bentov, a well-known Israeli-Chines artist.

The opening ceremony was presented by Mr. Shi Yuewen, Director of the Tel Aviv Chinese Cultural Center and Culture Attaché Yan Xiangdong of the Chinese Embassy in Israel. Representatives from the Shudao Group also attended the event.

 

Qing Fang-Bentov, an Israeli Chinese who was born in Beijing and attended the Beijing Art school specializing in Chinese dance. From 1976-1980 she was a dancer in Beijing music and dance company. She received a bachelor degree in Chinese ethnic dance education from Beijing dance academy in 1984. Soon after the graduation she became a teacher in the same academy.

On Saturday, the Israeli Ambassador to China, H.E. Irit Ben-Abba, visited Chengdu, the capital of China's Sichuan province, as her second West China Tour commenced with a unique reception dinner. Ms. Ben-Abba, who also serves as the President of the Israeli Universities Alumni in China (IUAC), will continue her tour to Chongqing, Yunnan, and Guizhou.
The evening's event, orchestrated by the Consul General of Israel to Chengdu, Mr. Gadi Harpaz, showcased an impressive blend of foods, fruits, and drinks sourced from both southwest China and Israel, signifying the close ties of P. R. China and Israel. The meticulous selection of delicacies delighted guests mirrored the intricate fusion of Chinese and Israeli cultures.
Representatives from the Sichuan and Chengdu governments, heads of diplomatic missions, and local business figures attended the event. Consuls General of Germany, Austria, and Chile, Mr. Shuang Qiu, Executive President of the Israeli Universities Alumni in China, Mr. Qigang Xiong, Director of the Board for Shudao Group, and Ms. You Zhang, CEO of the Aidi Eye Hospital Group, were among the illustrious invitees. Their presence underlined the increasingly deep business and cultural collaborations between Israel and China.
Israel's reputation as a global innovation hub, combined with China's robust economic strength, has the potential to bring revolutionary advancements in this field. In the conversation, guests primarily discuss the prospects of the ophthalmology and transportation sections, with the facilitation of the IUAC.

The Israel Universities Alumni and Friends in China (IUAC), attended the opening ceremony of the "The Long March Photo Exhibition" held at the Tel Aviv Chinese Cultural Center by Mr. David Ben Uziel. Mr. David Ben, a well-known Israeli friend to China, has been curious about the distant and mysterious eastern powers since he was young. 


His Excellency Mr. Cai Run, Chinese Ambassador to Israel, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. In his speech, Ambassador Cai pointed out that the Communist Party of China and the Red Army led by it carried out the great Long March, from October 1934 to October 1936, realizing the strategic transfer to the north to fight against Japan, and making the transition of the Communist Party of China and the Chinese revolutionary cause from a setback to a great turn of victory. Mr. David Ben Uziel’s "The Long March Road Photography Exhibition" will help Israeli friends better understand China's history, Chinese culture, China's development, and the struggle of the Communist Party of China.

Dr. Yulia Mitiagin, director general of the Israel Universities Alumni and Friends in China (IUAC), expressed in an interview with Xinhua News Agency reporters at the scene, the importance of the Long March and the visual photo exhibition. The also emphasized the importance of building bridges of cultural exchanges and enrich the understanding of China among Israelis.

 
The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr. Shi Yuewen, Director of the Tel Aviv Chinese Cultural Center. Military Attaché Zhang Su, Attaché Zhu Dezhong and Culture Attaché Yan Xiangdong of the Chinese Embassy in Israel also attended.

Israel Universities Alumni and Friends in China visited the release and reading event of the new book (משוררת שאין לה מילים) by Yu Jingyi, a Chinese-Israeli writer living in Israel, was held in the auditorium of the Arthur Murray Dance School. Dr. Yulia Mitiagin, Director General of the Israel Universities Alumni and Friends in China (IUAC), and Mr. Yan Xiangdong, Cultural and Educational Counselor of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Israel, were invited to attend.
 
Ms. Yu, who lives in Israel, is a poet, writer, film director, drama producer, and the founder of the China-Israel Culture and Art Foundation. Yu Jingyi’s new book presents her poems simultaneously in three languages: Chinese, Hebrew and in English. The book was recently published by the Israeli publisher "Sifrei Niv".
 
Professor Liang Hong, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at Tel Aviv University, also delivered a speech at the event. Professor Liang Hong is a professor of Chinese at Renmin University of China. Israeli actress Hadar Galron read the poems in Hebrew. Researcher Oren Auster from Clalit Research Institute in Israel was also invited to attend the event on behalf of the alumni.

The first meeting of "China - Israel Innovation Education and Sister Schools" project

The Team of Israel Universities Alumni and Friends in China visited Sunac China Headquarters in New Century Global Center, accompanied by leaders and members of the committee of Meishan Tianfu New District Rural Revitalization Promotion Association, as well as Senior Management from Chinese Companies from investment, proper management, agriculture, and information technology industries.
Sunac is a major property developer headquartered in Tianjin, China. The company focuses on large-scale, medium to high-end property developments in domains such as residence, commerce, arts, culture, agriculture, medicine, and technology.

January 19, 2022

The first online teacher exchange meeting of "China - Israel Innovation Education and Sister Schools" project was held on January 19th, 2022. The project includes 10 schools from Israel and 10 schools from China and was approved by relevant offices in China.

The project was launched under the note of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Israel. The first teacher exchange meeting was co-hosted by the Israel Universities Alumni and Friends in China, Sichuan Center of Teacher Development, and the Peres Center for Peace and Innovation.

Conference on International Science and Technology Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Collaboration

Israel Universities Alumni and Friends in China , and the The Peres Center for Peace and Innovation reached a partnership to jointly promote cooperation between Israel and China. The sides will put joint efforts to promote exchanges and cooperation between Israel and China in various fields. 
The Director-General of the Israel Universities Alumni and Friends in China (IUAC), Yulia Mitiagin, PhD, and the Deputy Director General of the Peres Center, Ms. Yarden Leal-Yablonka , signed a memorandum of understanding. 
The Alumni Liaison to Israel Rivka Qian and Industry Affair Advisor Mr. Benjamin L. Hofmann MPH, as well as, Representatives from Peres Center of peace and innovation: Tamar (Tami) Hay- Sagiv and Maya Eshhar, have attended the signing ceremony.

the 2021 Conference on International Science and Technology Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Collaboration was held by the University of Electronic Sciences and Technology of China and Sichuan International Collaboration (Israel) Research Institute, supported by Israel Universities Alumni and Friends in China (IUAC) and the Haifa University from Israel. The Conference focuses on the topics "New Situation, New Challenge, New Opportunities" regarding international innovation, entrepreneurship, and collaboration.

ESTABLISHMENT OF CHINA-ISRAEL DIGITAL FINANCE INNOVATION CENTER

October 28, 2021

The online China - Israel Innovation Education and Sister School International Cooperation Education Forum was held under the guidance of the Sichuan Provincial Department of Education, the Sichuan Office of Foreign Affairs, the Israeli Embassy in China, and the Israeli Consulate General in Chengdu, with the strong support of the Israeli Alumni and Friends in China organization. The forum was hosted by the Sichuan Teacher Development Center, by the primary schools affiliated to the Sichuan Academy of Educational Sciences. In addition China and Israeli heads of primary and secondary schools and representatives of education-related departments participated in the forum.


The China - Israel Innovative Education and Sister School Project consists of a series of educational and teaching activities such as culture, education innovation. It will be carried out by primary and secondary schools in China and Israel.

The Alumni organization, under the guidance and support of the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics and Chengdu Financial Regulatory Bureau, established China-Israel Digital Finance Innovation Center. The center will serve all financial purposes and Fin-Tech innovations for both nations.

MS. WEI (RIVKA) QIAN, COMMUNITY MANAGER

Rivka has been working for many years in promoting business collaboration between China and Israel and assisted one the the largest acquisitions from China to Israel. She used to be an exchange student in Tel Aviv University and completed her MBA also in Israel. She is now living and working in between Tel Aviv and Shanghai.
